Why is my Instagram account not connecting?

Make sure your Instagram account is a Professional account (Business or Creator). Personal accounts are not supported by Meta's API. Go to Instagram Settings → Account → Switch to Professional Account.

How long does it take for a DM to be sent after a comment?

DMs are sent in real time — typically within a few seconds of a qualifying comment being posted. Delays can occasionally occur during Meta API downtime.

Why did my automation send a DM to someone who didn't comment the right keyword?

Keyword matching is case-insensitive and checks if the comment contains the keyword anywhere in the text. For example, the keyword LINK will match comments like "send me the link please". You can make your keyword more specific to reduce false triggers.

Can I use SendMeLink on multiple Instagram accounts?

Yes — you can connect multiple Instagram Professional accounts from the Settings page and create separate automations for each.

What does the 'Require Follower' toggle do?

When enabled, the automation will only send a DM if the commenter is already following your account. This helps you reward existing followers and encourages others to follow before engaging.

Why is my automation showing 'SKIPPED' in the logs?

Logs show SKIPPED when: (1) the commenter did not meet the follower requirement, or (2) the DM failed to send due to a Meta API error (e.g. the recipient has DMs restricted).

Can I pause an automation without deleting it?

Yes. On the Dashboard, click the pause button next to any automation. You can resume it anytime. Paused automations do not process new comments.

Is my Instagram password stored?

No. We never see or store your Instagram password. The connection uses Meta's official OAuth — you log in directly on Instagram's website and grant SendMeLink specific permissions only.

How do I delete my account and all my data?

Email us at support@sendmelink.in with the subject 'Delete My Account'. We will permanently delete all your data within 30 days. You can also disconnect SendMeLink from your Instagram settings to trigger data deletion.
